Project Friendship Programming for the Developmentally Disabled

Every prospective participant in our program is interviewed by the Recreation Supervisor. If it is determined that the participant would benefit from the new programs, a registration packet is given to the parent or guardian. The packet includes a registration form, physical and immunization forms as well as parent’s permission sheet. When the packet is completed the participant is welcome to join the program. The City of Yonkers Recreation Department services all participants with developmental disabilities. Our program primarily consists of Yonkers Residents. We also have many registered participants from Westchester County. The feedback from the families shapes our program and helps with present and future programming ideas.
